With the new contract he'll surely will be under 20000 per week.
Of course it is a loss if he retires at the end of the season.
But in the end Peloton is a sports simulation. I want to win tours and races.
What else should I do with my 60 millions?

I know schizm, I was just pointing out that there is more to consider then only the 13hill stat. Would you buy him in Joe's place? I might say no to be honest PS: I know you wrote that you gave Zberg a tip about lowering the mood, but didn't do it in public if I'm not mistaken? If I was still "really" active as a player I certainly would have him on my shortlist, but I admit I would have been outbid by now (in other words : the price is too high for his age). I did mention how it can be done, but I noticed the thread in the transfer subfora got archived in meantime so I'll quote my own post : I just send him a link to topics handling it on this forum, and gave him a tip about offering to low pay raises to let the mood drop under "ok". You can do it the "italian way" too (putting him on the transfer list for a ridiculously high price) but that takes a lot longer.

Just for information: I thought when you buy your own cyclist, you would have to pay 10% of the amount (because you earn only 90% of what you've paid) and he would get a standard contract of 45 weeks, like when you buy another cyclist. Apparently, only a small cost is charged, but his contract stays the same. So I actually used the "lowermoodtrick" to renew his contract. I'll see in the Giro what that mooddrop does with his results. But as his wage went from 66.000 to 30.000 and all his bonusses are gone, a lot of pressure is off his shoulders .

I think it is 5% not 10; but I did not buy any of own cyclists for ages (maybe I never did, since I can't remember when or who) so maybe it is a totaly different calculation. The weeks left on contract does not change, yes, I could have told you that. 30k is alot better, but more then I anticipated, maybe you already improved his contract/mood ?

Nope, that's the contract he got after breaking up the old one. I tried with another cyclist too. The wage now is for both: Transfervalue / 70.5

well, you did a very good thing to keep him. What was the final transfer price and how much did it cost you? Wasn't online to follow it. Nice to know the wage calculation, I have to redo one of my oldies his contract this week:-)
Schizm, your pay raises tip is something similar as I do to lower mood. I have a slightly different manner but the idea is the same.
Joe, when you have 60mil on the account, then we are talking about total different things. That's another way of playing, I wouldn't mind either to go crazy:-)
About today, surprising win by Gik. Pushes headcase into some deep trouble, certainly knowing Lamego is on next week to score heavily in Giro. Bosko, I think you're slowly crawling out of the danger zone

"You bought your own cyclist, Toussaint Sikkes. Administrative cost added: 2500." My bid was 2M, so I guess the 2500 is a fixed cost. It's almost nothing, but it also delivers you nothing: wage stays the same and contract remains the same. It's only good when you accidently have put a cyclist for sale you didn't want to or when you feel the bids aren't high enough.
I have a little gap with position 9 for now, but Tour de Romandie will probably be rubbish for me.

SpartaB made an offer of $1,210,000 on Charlotte Michaux. Groenenhoek made an offer of $1,464,100 on Charlotte Michaux. But I bought him for 1,6M! bosko and @stinus1986 I hate you for raising on him I'm really glad he is back in my team. I think he can help me keeping the 8th position in sight.

I decided to go for Maffei instead. Much more expensive, but many more years to go. I didn't have enough money on my bank account to buy them both (and thought over 1.6M was maybe to much for a 35y old). Good luck with him!

Thanks, I saw Mafei as well, but didn't want to spend 2M. Glad it turned out this way.

Why pay 70k after a sale or a contract reset his wage will be at 20-25k , that is only a third. Ofcourse you will lose the mood that way, but that should be no big problem. P.S. : Also, about a month ago I explained somewhere on the forum there is no need to put a cyclist on the TL to let his mood drop. It is just to time consuming ... Summary: Buying a cyclist: wage = TV/90.25; mood = content (only when bought from other manager) Renewing contract by breaking open: wage = TV/70.5; mood = ok (cost: TV/8)

Damn, my leader fell at the finish (how can one fall on a mountain part?) and is injured for 2 weeks. There goes my Giro plan... Thought I was safe for these things because of his Steering 20 and Balance 19.

Nice buy with maffei, one to watch in the future. 2nd today in a course that did not 100% suit him, goodie. I had him on the shortlist as well, but the deadline was not reachable for me.
Tomorrow we get lamego for the stage, fitness update at the evening and ready for the giro next week. Neo takes the GC
