Ha James, well, I do not know all the stats and maybe you are right. You know your riders better than I can estimate them :-) Schuller did better than I expected him to do, so, hill does not seem so much of a weak spot anyway. Yet, I think if he could have waited a day to race, the Trofeo Dea would have been better for him. More climbing and a mountain finish. Ximenes was second at 0"44 of Pavel. To my estimation you would have crushed them.
And for today I would have played Pacchiano and I would have saved Krolak a bit for stage 3. :-) It is just about the amount of km's flat- hill.
Anyway, I do not always play my best options. This is because I want 28-32 get a chance and built up a bit of mood, instead of a better result by a 38 year old who will probably retire.
Interesting development. Congratulations Dirk, with the impressive TTT-win. Lanoe and Van Odijk seem the main contenders for GC. With place 3 to be decided in between Osmochescu and Bochinsky? Maybe my Van Nes can sneak in. Youthstar rankings are very tight. Seems that Huizinga and Lafaut have to make every second count, while Will has lost connection. Maybe Duinslaeger can still come back as probably being the best climber there.
Wow! Lanoe did not go all in, Van Odijk took it easy today and Bochinsky did not like the climbing. Van Nes did very well even taking the mountain jersey. Congratz though to Antwerp for Osmochescu for the yellow (3 seconds! - what if stage 3 would have been a few km's longer?) and Low Budget for Bochinsky taking the green.
