I agree. I also checked some new managers (only the Dutch ones, and send messages to the ones who were active) and noticed a lot of them had stopped playing.
There are some people (like myself) who are very eager to get information and don't mind to invest a few hours into that. These people will find the info in the wiki and the forums. But if you want to learn the basics of the game in ten minutes (most people), it's not easy to do so. An easy to find quick start guide would be good.
I do remember that a start guide have been posted in the forums, probably that one can be used (with some updates). If we have done this, is it possible (without the help of IP) to add it to the menu in the section help? And is it possible to message/email new managers with pointers?

Not sure if it happens now, but it would be handy if ElGringo or Schizm get a notification when a new member signs in. Then they can send them a welcom mail with some usefull information for a Quick Start, in this mail itself. Really short, only with the important "do and don't". If they want more info, they can refer to the Forum and/or Wiki.
If Schizm and ElGringo agree, we can search together for the most important facts.

Seberla wrote something on that somewhere. A very good starting guide.

Since I agreed to be in a think tank, here some ideas:
1. Why not assign a manager assistent (an experienced manager (managing a team for at least 5 seasons?), willing to help/advice a new team the first season) to a new team manager? Not after 1 week but immediately when the new team starts. Send a message to both teams (assistent and newbie) that they have a "relation" for the next period. I'm sure the relationship will fade out after a while.
2. Don't make it possible for a new team to buy a multiple skilled trainer the first week/month/season. So he/she is obliged to buy a single skilled trainer. She or he can train the trainer up in other skills.
3. A pop-up for new teams to read the intstructions for newbies. and confirm to have read the instructions and agree with the inhouse game rules.

Hey you all. I am new. I did already a lot of reading, but still a lot of questions are coming up. It would be cool if someone wants to be my mentor, someone I can fire all the stupidest questions to.
The newbie-guide + wiki is good, and makes you understand the game quickly. But soon as you pass level 1, you get a lot of level 2 -problems. Perhaps I want to go too fast ...
Congratulations of the creator of this game. It seems very nice. I was looking since long for a game such as this one. Looking forward to play! Unfortunately I stepped in in the middle of the giro. So I have to be patient for a while, untill I can participate in races. But that gives me the time to read, learn and shop the market.
So, anyone's interested for some mentoring?
greetz!

Hello Davy, welcome. I guess many of us would like to help you out. Someone with the same language is easiest. So when you are dutch or belgian, I am willing to help you and you can PM your guestions. Otherwise just state your country.

Hi davyduck welcome to the game. Nice to see that some of the new managers read the welcome message with the link for the starting guide Like Tossboom said you can always ask here in forum but if you have a managers from your country to help it would be easy to understand.

First I was a big fan of the mentor-concept, but I'm thinking: if you have a mentor with wrong ideas ... than you have bad luck, of course. Sometimes Im rolling my eyes when I see managers writing 'strange insights'.
There is not 1 truth, there are different approaches ... so I think for in-depth questions, you better ask here on the forum, so you can hear more suggestions then only 1 from your (maybe wrong) mentor.

All true, but it's nice to have someone you can mail to, to ask the little stupid questions, or to brainstorm about what you are thinking. As a starter, alle the main things are written.
For now it's just building a squad and getting experience in races. For the important and big decisions it's propably best to have some opinions.
And of course I have a mind of my own. And I'm very stubborn. So in the end I will propably now it best :-)

By coincidence. I saw a thread on the web forum of dutch cyclingnewswebsite: wielerflits.nl. And so I was curious and started searching for the game.

By doing fair system to make up new divisions? Like not putting the best 3 teams of division 4 in 3:3 with the two best regulated teams of 2:1?
