Well, As said, I was working on a plan to save the game.
We all love it, but if we are not doing anything, this will be the last season.
But a lot of us need to participate.
I haven't worked it out in detail yet, but it is something like this.
Problems of the game are:
1. too few people are maintaining the game, solving problems, or have acces to everything etc.
2. the game isn't developing, nothing is done to improve
3. too few players, people don't know of the existence of the game and the players who start, quit because they don't have opponents, or make huge mistakes in the beginning
4. an owner who doesn't care about the game any more
The solution isn't that hard.
I am a business man, so forgive me the business names and verbs.
I think we need a board of directors to control the game.
5 people.
1. CEO (Chief Executive Officer). Resposible for the coordination between the board members and responsible for communication to managers about the strategy of the game, how it is developing and what direction are we going in, etc.
2. COO (Chief Operational Officer). Responsible with his team, for the daily maintaining of the game. Solving problems, bugs, etc. This team should be at least 3 people (For instance, El Gringo, Schizm and Nikeboy) and 1 of them will be the COO.
3. CFO (Chief Financial Officer). Responsible, with his team, for the finances. I will come back to that later.
4. CCO (Chief Commercial Officer). Responsible with his team for advertising the game in several countries and make this game known to many people and attract more new players.
5. CDO (Chief Development Officer). Responsible with his team, for developing the game. What could be improved in the game, perhaps create something new. This team should contain at least one, but preferably 2, programmers (Kurtinsc???) and a few managers in a so calle thinktank, who think about the game. Also this team is responsible for a guidebook (something like Seberla started to develop) and assistance to new managers.
Then coming back to the finances: IP wants 5.000. We can get this money by giving out shares.
Let's say we need 6.000 Euros. 5.000 for buying the game, 1.000 for advertising, developing, server costs etc.
We give out shares for 5 Euro's per share. So that are 1200 shares.
Every manager is free to buy shares or not. Not an obligation. And everybody can buy as much shares as they want. And it doesn't have to be only managers. If someone knows somebody with money who wants to invest a little into a nice game: very welcome!
With this money, we buy the game. Premium money will be used, as it is now, to pay for all costs of the game, but if we get more players, and more premium money, we can use this money to buy back shares from the managers who invested in the game. Just as long until we paid back everybody. Of course, in the mean time, we keep on developing the game.
If we then still have money left, we can lower the premium.
The CFO is, with his team, responsible for the administration of the shares, the budgetting, the finances and the bank account. The CFO needs to open a new bank account, and for any payment, there should Always be 3 people signing before a payment can be made, so that nobody can steal the money.
If we don't sell enough shares to reach the 6000 Euro's, then the rest of the shares will be given to IP, which means he gets IOU's (For instance, if we gather 4.000 Euros, then IP gets 400 shares for free, and IP will be the first to be paid back if there is money coming out of the premium).
Since this is an international community, I think it is vital that we have people from different nationalities. Especially form the biggest communities, Italians, Belgians, Romanians and Dutch (pardon me if I forgot other big communities). But of course also from other nationalities.
The people we need:
1 CEO
for the maintaining at least 3 people.
For the finance also 3 (3 different nationalities)
For the commercial part, in every country at least 1 active guy who is taking care that the game comes under the attention of a lot
And for the development part, 1 or 2 programmers, and a thinkthank of at least 6 people.
So a minimum of 25 guys I guess.
What do you all think of it so far? I think, if a lot of us are prepared to help, it could be realistic, and I don't see a lot of alternatives, unless anybody is rich enough to buy the game.
And who is willing to help?
Regards,
Arno
