because there is kind of a double meaning to the first part, I rather translate it in parts : "op kop" : "at the lead" (head of the race) "op zijn kop" : "upside down" (literally : on his head) "de sloot in" : "into the ditch" BTW : "Me ons zatte kloten de vaart in" is a variation on the same theme , which sort of translates as "drunk as f*ck into the canal we duck" (also : "de vaart er in" = "going fast") That's exactly how I meant it. @mike I hope it won't be true next season, but I'm afraid it might be
