Well, I had hoped La Rioja or Rund um Koln would give me a win but it was not to be. I think I've fallen behind a critical point with flat where even with races with significant hills I can't hold any gaps I make over the flats.
Due to planning my squad for the Giro, I don't have the best rider choice for LFW or LBL ... I probably should have focused more on winning those races then the Giro to be honest. That race is likely out of reach.
I think my biggest weakness is being able to realize where my team needs to focus it's efforts. Years where I should be looking to winning stage races I chase stages and 1-days and vice versa.

For me it was a good week. Won Paris-Roubaix and got another podium finish. This week I am hoping for another win or at least some podium finishes. As for the Giro, we will see what happens, it's not a must, as long as we can grab the points needed to keep the gap between our team and relegation.

For me is the same, i know already what players will play Giro but i don't know if I choose the correct ones. Every season i have problems with the 3 big tours, i dont choose the right cyclists. Maybe this season will be different. I know very good to play 1 day races and 3 days tours.

LFW is Fleche wallone and LBL liege bastogne liege:-)
i havnt decided yet which riders will start in the giro. Looks like for the first time in years the tour is pretty balanced. Van de weghe was a possibility but i tried to go for the 3 jerseys today so he is out with low fitness.

The message board I read and occasionally post on regarding cycling uses those and other abreviations... though the GT's generally just use "The Tour", "The Giro" and "The Vuelta". but you have P-R, MSR, P-N, T-A, RVV, LBL, LFW, TDS, WC (world championships) and ToC... and really that's it. Not sure why they abbreviate the Tour of California but don't do the same for Lombardia (a monument) or races like San Sebastian, Eneco or Pologne. It is an English speaking board so that might explain it.

Snake Milano is very upset in last days, he want to win everything I dont have enough patience to follow today race Amstel to see what was happening I dont know where to attack anymore ... every day i finish only on place 2 if not with my best cyclist i can not win Maybe i lost because of last terrain/part, who knows ? Hope to remain in top 2 after Giro but i'm not sure. I could dominate Giro but also i could make a bad impression. Every season i'm not so happy with my cyclists choosed for the 3 big tours.

Well, from looking at the race it appears my guy Epifano had the best hill of the escape group (as shown by him going to the front on any hill section). But Bouquin was second.
Bouquin however was able to escape on the first downhill and while other riders also escaped, they were a group behind. Epifano pretty much pulled all the other escape groups (through the 2nd and 3rd attack points where he didn't attack) back on the hills.
Epifano then dropped like a log on the late mountain sections (1:40 to Parasca, 2:30 to Bouquin). The late hills allowed him to pull it to 40 seconds (to Parasca) or 1:20 (to Bouquin).
Bouquin essentially won due to having a high hill/downhill combo. He was able to attack successfully on both the first hill attack and get a gap to everyone else on the second downhill attack... and his hill rating was high enough that he could hold off the chasing Epifano while nobody else who tried that strategy could.
Epifano is one of my initially generated riders for my team. But because of the fact I've never trained mountain... he sucks on that terrain. In Amstel that had an obvious impact... he got destroyed on those two late mountain sections.

And after LFW... I'm down to 8th. Snake's been on a bit of a tear lately... winning the GC in Pais-Vasco, AGR and LFW back to back to back (he's the one who passed me AND Pegasus and moved into 6th).

well in fact, its not that big of a surprise when you see that your captain is the only cyclist that was put at 100%... makes a big diffence. Also you use cyclists with high weight and height, combined with a decent flat and TT skill, you could see that coming:-)
now i'm curious to see what your tactic will be in the mountains:-D
i'm surprised to see that natramn lost more than 2 mins already. Knowing that the last stage is an individual TT, i wonder what pettini will perform. For the rest no participation of nikeboys, he will lose a lot of points and i think this may be the end of him in this division. For the rest you cant say much. Times are very similar to eachother, still have to wait a few more stages.

Times are very similar to eachother, still have to wait a few more stages. 1. i dont know, till you write, that my cyclists for Italy have good weight and height for TT flat stage ... now i see that ... i dont put cyclists in races seeing their height and weight only if they have good skills and fitness 100%. For me weight, height are not so import. More important are skills and mood . Without Cardei family all other 3 cyclist have good flat skills all 3 are trained by me, in the past, flat. Or i think i train them flat not sure, only Fidatov is born in my team. 2. me too , i don't know what tactics i will have, my real mountain cyclists dont play in this tour. But of course all without Fidatov have good mountain, not awesome but good / medium mountain. 3. maybe probably of playing today at "Save fitness" ? And maybe because play to often at fitness? Last ITT is a mountain TT => i liked so much , i dont think nattram players are mountain cyclist or i'm wrong? Probably Nike is on a trip. 4. Yup, is too soon to think who will win a jersey or another. Only juniors jersey is almost knowing where will go. But to play with juniors in big tours? Destroy your team on TTT and Nattram make a huge mistake, with this mistake he could lost first place on general standings. Hope to see you , all, more in forum on next weeks with this 3 big tours coming. Also with Tour du France on real life.

I don't like today results How is possible that Hoceden with a fall to be better then my Fidatov with 1 flat (and 18 steering ) and Cardei with steering 15 and balance 20 to have a flat and finish with the peloton (i know their fitness ) Mini (from Tours) with 1 fall better then my Cardei with 1 flat. Also i don't like this: 1. Debever 04:46:36 [Time jersey] Nattramn 4. Fidatov +1:34 Luptatorii din Rarau 5. Mini +4:44 Tours.Cycle.Club my cyclists at 5.26 I hope Debever will lose minutes saturday in Taranto - Viggiano if not i could change a lot my tactics. My bad tactic is that i hoped in top 10 for 3 or 4 of my cyclists and Nattram play only with 1 for general. Maybe i need to focus only on 1 cylicst but what kind of cyclists?!?

While I know falls have a chance of injury while flats do not, I thought their impact on how a cyclist performs in a race is the same. From your post it sounds like you expect falls to impact performance more.
I'm not sold Nattramn's GC guy is actually Debever. Looking at his stage wins, he seems like more of a flat guy. Pettini won the Giro for him last year and is at 98% right now. That's my guess.
Riders I'm positive will be going on the attack tomorrow:
Laternano - 5:26 Sironi - 5:27 Lacroux - 5:45 Batistoni - 5:45 Stockman - 5:47 Guivarch - 5:49 Cammert - 5:49 Thomas - 6:19 Pettinni - 7:45
Maybe a couple of others... but I'm betting those guys will be attacking.

As for picking one rider, I have no idea what type would be best. I picked a well rounded guy for my GC focus... but Saturday will be key for me in determining whether I try for the GC or not. I'm going for the stage and GC position with two different riders which will be difficult for me to pull off. I might end up losing the stage and GC position by trying for too much (I've done that many times before). Still going to try it though.
