I have currently played one season of peloton with the new engine and my cyclists are finally popping to skill 7 on sprint. However, I am a bit sursprised by the way how their training progresses from skill 7. For example, one of my cyclists had an increased TV of only $4,6K two weeks ago (trainer skill=15), but a big increase of $11,5K previous week (trainer skill = 16), while an other cycist had a bigger increase two weeks ago than him ($6,7K), while his result of last week is a mere $3,5K. I knew that there was always a little random factor in TV increase, but this difference is huge.. Does anyone know if the distribution of the FA for the sprint skill is different from flat, mountain and hill, and why is that so? And second, why is this randomization so big?

The difference isn't that big... Everything around 5k (at skill 7) is 0.1, everything around 10k is 0.2. To minimize the random factor, just compare to the previous week. First increase 4.6k, so the next week you can expect a slightly higher increase as normal. The same goes for the 6.7k. That's a big increase for 0.1, so the next week the increase can be smaller because of the random factor being smaller. The fact that sometimes your cyclists train 0.1 and sometimes 0.2 (or even 0.0) is because they train for example 0.15/training. That will give a 0.1-0.2-0.1-0.2-... increase.

I'm sure there was a thread a few months back where the first batch of managers who trained riders past sprint=7 found there was no variation in sprint FA.
I've just spent some time trying to find the thread, but couldn't.
I vaguely recall Genomico being one of the ones commenting on the lack of variability in sprint FA, so perhaps he could shed more light on it.
Sprint 7 -> 8 takes 6-7 weeks for me on trainer skill=19.

Ok, I didn't know that training occurs with discrete steps. Seems that I still have a lot to learn , thanks. But it still makes me wonder why Nikeboy and IP chose to minimilize the variation of sprint FA. This should be similiar with mountain and flat. A cyclist like A. Schleck will never be able to defeat Cavendish in a normal sprint, no matter how hard he trains.

Well, to simulate Cavendish way of sprinting 2 more skills would be necessary : elbow and shoulder attacks

Does anyone know if there's a variation in the TT and downhill FA? I have no cyclist >= 7 in those skills, so I don't know...

Hmm, it's a pity that there's little or no variation is sprint FA. Now it's also harder for me to choose to continue with training or to train on an other skill..
