I buy a rider some time ago and I use him some races and even in funny races and he has similar mountain skills to another rider but he lose many time and I dont know why.
This week in the funny race they finish with a diffrenece of 6 min and I think is many.
My riders
HENCO JAUMOTTE (3198) 65kg
Primary skills Flat5 Hill 1 Mountain 11 Downhill2 Sprint 1 Time trial 5
GIANLUPO ORIGO (851) 67 kg
Primary skills Flat1 Hill 4 Mountain 11 Downhill1 Sprint 4
I has a friend and he told me that could be the weigh but they are similar.
Jaumotte wins 6 min to Origo.
Can someone help me to know what to do? Time trial 2

Most likely it's the difference in time trial, something already discussed in "Evaluating new RE + future". Another nice example the new RE needs some great changes according to the TT on mountain terrain. But NikeBoy is already checking this.

Like Genomico said, probably TT skill. But they did exactly the same in the race? They had the same tactics, they didn't fell/flat tire without helpers or on a downhill part? They used the same amount of fitness? They have the same mood? A lot of small things can cause a big difference

Another factor is that the time difference isn't always a factor of how big a difference in the skills there is.
For example, there could be a very small thing between the two that causes the rider with higher TT to get ahead and the one with lower TT to get behind. Could be a tiny decimal point of difference.
But once the guy with low TT is behind (especially if he is dropped early), his low TT (and perhaps low flat if there are some intermediate flat sections) can cause him to fall WAY back of the group the high TT rider is in.
