So I'm carrying on as the solo entertainer in the division's thread. The Giro d'Italia is about to start tomorrow. Finally the first of the big tours. I hope that Myrcysters and Drepanum Team will subscribe in time! I guess in the end you need at least some 10+ mountain cyclists to go for the general classment. But the race is difficult due to the great variability of the stages. Maybe that the Giro is only decided with last stage's team time trial. So it's difficult choices that have to be made: - rather pick some stages to go for the win in or gamble for the general classment
- trying to stay in the peloton for each race or trying to gain some time with an attack
- rather use 5 mountain cyclist to help each other or pick flat, hill and TT specialists for some stages
What are you gonna do? Who do you think will win the Giro? Because I don't have enough faith in my mountain cyclists I'm going with an allround team so I can try to snatch at least some stages. I guess that WTC Driewieler will start with good prospects to win the general classment. Kimi has shown that she has a lot of great mountain specialists and I guess that this will be the most decisive factor. Good luck! very good Tours of Korea and Borneo. Unexpected results. For Italy I will coment next days, now is too early . About results and so on i dont know yet what to say. All results are ok for me, i dont know the power of the other teams in mountains.

How many races do we have per season? place 2 is for you, but without winning races This is going to be difficult if I don't win some races! you have healthy finances? If not sell some nice cyclists I'm slightly in the black. Indeed I think I'm only getting this much of good results because I can max the effort in every race because I've got that big roster.

As expected WTC Driewieler is leading the Giro quite from the first stage on. As positives I can see that at least my mountain cyclist was reaching the finish with the first group. And my other cyclists at least improved their balance capabilities. That is something too at least And if my youth cyclist will stay uninjured throughout the Giro he at least will win the youngster classment. OK. Tomorrow it's going flat. Some chances for my sprinters. But alas: I fear that Laiglebrun of www.foudevelo.net is having that very same thought.

Keep you finances healthy , i want to see you also next season About Italy : I'm disaponted by Taborda and Jung, hoped better results from them. But in the end is good i dont wanted to promote Now... what to say?? In this game is all about sprint in almost all races, and about mountain in Italy, Spain. France for me is a mistery now . I dont know how to play mountain races from Italy , maybe after Messina-Etna, race 3, i will know what to do in Italy.

As I had already figured out, Italy is all 'bout the fun for me. I'm not going to win anything, my best riders are being humiliated. But that's not a problem

Strange... Whole race up front with Vanquathem but at the last part with 2 helpers with him he can't even follow. Don't get it?

Strange... Whole race up front with Vanquathem but at the last part with 2 helpers with him he can't even follow. Don't get it? Well, the last climb has been the longest and steepest one. With Vanquaethem being one of the more heavy cyclists of the top 20 the combination of long and steep seems to have been too much for him.

Yeah I know that, but he is one of my best mountain cyclists so usually the steeper the better. didn't think I was going to win, but did not think that even my best riders are losing time on their main skill.

Maybe, their sprint skill is a little low. So I maybe wait till the vuelta.
Giro is not giving me what I had hoped for.
How are you feeling about the giro?

Maybe, their sprint skill is a little low. So I maybe wait till the vuelta. Giro is not giving me what I had hoped for. How are you feeling about the giro? Without doubt Delair from WTC Driewieler is the best mountain hardened sprinter. But it seems that he lost the GC of the Giro due to his lack in flat skill. Today's ITT will be very very important. It's interesting that WTC Driewieler isn't dominating completely (I really was expecting this). But as it is there are 7 different teams left with very good chances for the GC. Let's see how it is after the ITT. I'm a little bit pissed that my sprinter Tri Slimani took an injury on the third stage. I'm a little bit surprised there are so few cyclists who are able to stick to the peloton in the mountains. In spite of that there was not a single succesful break for a GC rider there's only 10 cyclists left within 1 minute. It really seems that my earlier prediction that the Giro will only be decided with the team time trial could be fulfilled. I'm a little bit with hope that my Venturato keeps his pace. Unfortunately he has no mountain helpers at his side (because I assumed I would be distanced in the mountains anyway). But since I've chosen strong TT cyclists I really see chances to keep him on one of the 3 first ranks. The later (my new ambitions for GC) caused that I had to adapt my tactics. My team was prepared to snatch 3 or 4 stages with maxed efforts. But now it really seems as if it could be the wiser course to support my Venturato in his ambitions in the GC. At least I was succesful with my attack on the 2nd stage (at a time when I wasn't expecting to go for the GC at all). So in the end: If I suffer no more injuries I will be ok with the Giro!

No feelings I play my best mountain player at 100% in Falzes - Cortina d'Ampezzo, he attack in 5 attack points and no results Don't know what to do anymore.
