It's a nice worksheet! I do something a bit different, but I might switch to one of your versions.

I also use pretty much the same sheet (just not 1 column for each cyclist, but per row 5 columns extra for information of the cyclists, tactics and efforts of that day).
It looks like the stage Brive-la-Gaillarde - Rodez ends on a mountain, not on a hill. Can hill be confirmed?
I'm finally done with my planning till the Giro. I think it took me about 6 hours in total ;D

Genomico : I can confirm that the stage to Rodez ends with 5 km hill with an angle of 6%. (I made that one myself so it would be foolish if I made a mistake on that one). Furthermore Schizm overhauled the excel sheet completely. The colours are a little bit more decent. Apart from that he added the id of the races and the finishing terrain. And he added each day - even those without races - to the calendar. (And he's showing the number of attack points, too). I uploaded his version too and named it V2.0.
Some explination about the changes I made : - I added the days without races so when you change the first date all the other dates will be calculated automatically. - The ID is also calculated automatically based on the racename and is used to fetch all the racedata. So filling the exact racename is the only thing you need to do when changing the calendar. Ofcourse there is always the possibility new races will be added, and they need to by added in the database (on page 1). - the number of occupants is calculated.

15 extra columns would be handy to have a better overview of which cyclists participate each day and what effort+tactic they have. In the first column you put the name of the 1st cyclist, in the 2nd the effort you give him and in the 3rd the tactic you give him (attacker/helper etc). Columns 4 to 6 are for the 2nd cyclist that day etc. The cyclist-fitness-columns should be updated automaticely after filling the extra columns.

I was thinking about a way to combine some stuff in there without adding extra (visible) columns. I use a colorcoded sheet now to see what cyclists fits the race best, (you need atleast excel 2007 for that) on the side there are 5 columns where I put the number of the cyclist I select for that race (their column will be shown in bold and with a border around it). I was hoping to find a way to combine that with auto fitness calculation without adding extra columns which would spoil the overview I now have on a single screen.

Sprint point - mountainsprint points - attack points - Finishing Straight (Terrain) - Number of spots occupied. % left is something you have to fill in yourself but it is the intention that you fill in the % that is left after the race.

When a cyclist has given no tactis, he races at 60%; but what is his loss in fitness? also 5? By the way nice sheet! I use something familiar. I give his effort% in and the remaining % is calculated in another column.

A cyclist with no tactics will race at 70% and looses 5% fitness. A cyclist with save fitness races at 60% and will loose 1%.

Due to our catastrophe the dates have changed again. So I decided for myself now to stick to Schizm's version. Nevertheless I changed it a little bit: - I coloured stages of the same tour in the same background colour. - I hid the index and the number of attack points - I changed the race dates (which is completely fast and simple because you in fact only have to change the first date - hail Schizm's cleverness Find it in my dropbox as Peloton_Template_S4_V2.1.xls

Thanks to joelag & Schizm for this - it is much better than what I've been doing up to now. I added the auto-fitness calculation suggested by Schizm. Find it here: dl.dropbox.com/u/102726402/Peloton/Peloton_Template_S4_V2.2.xlsEnter race effort between 70-100, or 60 for fitness-saving tactic, and the Sunday fitness updates are automatically calculated. Should save a little time in planning.
