I don't know wheather it was suggested before, but I always wanted to see national teams in Peloton and I have some ideas how this could be implemented. Every 2 seasons there will be elections for every national team. In order to have a national team, a country needs a certain number of active users (let's say 15). Anyone that plays for more than 2 seasons can candidate and every user that plays for more than 1 month can vote in his country. The winner will coach the national team and will have to select riders for every race and set tactics. The calendar has to be modified a little bit. There will be no races for teams on Sunday. This day there will be races for national teams. I don't know which would be the exact number of national teams but the national teams could be split into divisions (the system will be diferent from the clubs divisions - there will be only one series for each division: div 1:1, div 2:1, div 3:1, etc.).
This are just some ideas. You can also contribute with your suggestions.

I like the idea! But I think this could be something for the off-season; or during the season, but then the fitness should not be decreased after the race. These races should not effect the regular season. If that is the case, I like it a lot! For the Netherlands I already foresee an interactive rotation system between some of the most experienced managers So, I have chosen "Brilliant idea", but that is only when the fitness doesn't effect the regular season.

Personally I'd want to add national and worldchampionships first, but I do like your ideas. It 'could have some potential' But there are still a couple of difficulties I foresee. For instance, can the manager of the national team see all the stats of all his nation's cyclists? Maybe a system could be figured out to have a 'bot' act as manager. It would keep the cyclist selection honest, without any favoritism, and the bot would simply select the best cyclists of the moment.

I think the task of a national manager is to discuss with other managers what would be the best team for a race. Probably he then gets an idea of what skills the cyclists of other have, but you shouldn't make that visible to the manager. He will just make the selection and give Teamnames+Cyclistnames to the race engine. Fitness and effort should be 100 standard. Edit: Ok, a BOT that picks the best cyclists for a certain stage could be an option

I would also include fitness decrease and injury chance. But managers should be given the option to deny the participation of his cyclists if they don't want to risk that. However, these races should be very rewarding for the winners as well, more than the regular division races.

I don't like the idea with bot manager. National teams should be about comunity and if this will be introduced I think that the national forums will animate a little bit. My suggestion is the following: on cyclist page there will be a button: "Send his skills to national coach". If the national coach thinks a cyclist is good he can ask the manager to send his skills. A cyclist can't be selected for the national team if the user didn't send his skills to the national coach. A coach can reject a cyclist, add him to national team shortlist or add him to the national team squad after the user send his skills. This way, national coaches won't have access to every cyclist skills. About favoritism or poor management decisions of the national coach: the comunity chooses him so at this level I think only the best managers from the country will have the oportunity to be national coach.
I think that fitness decrease and injury chance shouldn't be introduced or if introduced should be very low (10 or 5 fitness for 100% effort during a race). Cyclists should also recieve experience, secondary skills ... And I was thinking to a fixed reward: 5000 for every race for national team.

Good idea for the button on the cyclist page. That solves a number of difficulties already. And I agree with your opinion on the community.

Hi, I like the idea of the national team and the national championship.
Related to the races I don't like the idea of sunday ( its like the other cycling game, and Peloton isn't a copy of other games), for races I like the idea of Genomico.
I prefer that national teams could have human managers.

I support the idea for national teams (national/world championship) but I absolutely do not support the idea for a human national coach. No matter how you implement this, it will always give room for cheating/favoritism... Keep away from national coach elections !

No matter how you implement this, it will always give room for cheating/favoritism... Keep away from national coach elections ! I don't think there will be cheating or favoritism. 1) as I said before there will be a rule: users will need to have experience (play Peloton for at least 3 months or something) if they want to candidate. 2) the community in every country will vote so I'm sure the community won't vote a cheater/unexperienced user 3) if we eliminate prize money from national team races then there's no point in cheating/favoritism 4) do you see some experienced user like Rarau, Schizm, etc. cheating? If there will be a bot as national coach what would be the point of the hole competition? No user will follow it. Let me give you an example: do you follow results in division 5:128 (which is full of bots)? But maybe you follow results in your friend's divisions. But if there will be a user as coach there will be discussions about tactics, selection, races on the forum, via PM and users will be more interested about national teams. Related to the races I don't like the idea of sunday ( its like the other cycling game, and Peloton isn't a copy of other games) If it's the same day it doesn't mean it's a copy. I like more this day because if it will be free (no races for club teams) then users can buy the exact number of merchandise Saturday. Now, if Sunday is a race then you have 6 hours to buy exact number of merchandise you need and in some weeks I lost a few money because I wasn't home in that interval of time.

Fictional example !!! 1) I sign in for a team from Vietnam and play for 3 months. 2) I create 10 other teams, all from vietnam, and let each of them vote on me for national coach of vietnam. I am pretty sure I am selected. 3) Riding national team races will for sure give more experience, ... and what else is given, so I will be eager to put my riders in it. 4) No, these managers are no cheaters, but I am not voting on them , I am voting on myself You mix up bot coach with bot riders. Of course the race will be full of real riders from human teams. Only the selection is based on a computer algorithm. If you play Hattrick, you probably know what cheating problems have been handled over the years regarding national coaches. I stand firmly by my opinion : no national coach elections !!

Those 10 teams you register need be active for 1 month in order to be able to vote. If the administrators don't see 11 users with the same IP in 1 month then this game has big problems dealing with cheaters. And if someone does so and get's elected as national coach I'm sure he will be reported and his teams will be locked and either will be new elections (if there are enough active users in that country) or the country will be coached by a bot until the season ends then it will be deleted from the competition.

I don't see why national team races should have pricemoney and why cyclists should earn XP.

I agree with you, no prize money, XP or fitness lose.
