I completely changed my tactics for the Vuelta. For example, Sintes should have rode in Spain, but was chosen instead for the Eneco, because I realised in the TdF that the TT skill was just too important right now. If he can't compete in the big tours, I'm hoping he can win a smaller one... Of course, Eneco is probably not the best choice because it is not really mountains, but the fact that he followed your riders today in what is the flatest stage makes me hopeful for the remainder of the race. I let my 2 weakest riders go 100% and i was very happy with the result. The sprinter of Thorax went full speed too, while Dehertog (my sprinter this Tour who won the green jersey in Catalunya) is still on 95%, so i see chances to beat him tis time. The last stage is an uphill finish and i don't know the hillskill of Sintes, but i hope Knegt with his 3+ will have no flats and have a chance to compete for the GC and youngsterjersey. It's going to be interesting to see whether flat/hill can beat mountain in the Eneco...if there's one Tour were i can seriously compete it's this one and that's why the focus for me is more on Eneco then on the Vuelta. Btw....we don't have mountains in The Netherlands and certainely not in the part we rode today...it's near my home town and it's as flat as it can be.....ther's one "hill"around and that's like +30 meters. ;D

Big disappointment today. Both my sprinter (steering 18) and my GC man Knegt had a flat tire and i had no one in the first group. So much for my ambitions....we have the green jersey now with 1 point advantage, but i'm afraid that Cadoff will take it tomorrow. Hopefully a stagewin tomorrow to soften the pain a little bit.

Hmm, don't be too sure about Cadoff. Yes, he is still well rested, but his lack of skill at steering can cause him to fall down his bike at any time!!! He is my only true sprinter so I took a chance with this tour...

After yesterday's deception i decided to change tactics and let Knegt go 95% what will leave him out for Poland, but this was the perfect stage for him....what happens....another flat tire like yesterday, so no stagewin. At least he took away enouhj points from Cadoff at the intermediate sprints to let Dehertog win the green jersey. Congratz at Sintes it was a good decision to let him out of the Vuelta and let him win this one. Standings after Eneco Tour: 1. Team Camargue 8 4 1 5 4533 (+412) 2. Thorax 10 3 5 1 3781 (184) 3. Wisigoths 13th 12 3 0 4 3609 (+255) 4. Kingstown 19 1 2 0 2996 (+244) 5. kanikoerski 5 0 0 0 1591 6. Gouden Leeuwen 6 0 2 1 1210 7. Team Leopard-Trek 1 0 1 0 783 (+3) 8. Team Nenne 0 0 0 0 45 9. de leutemakers 0 0 0 0 4 10. Australian Warlord 0 0 0 0 0 11. vaila racing team 0 0 0 0 0

Thanks, I'm happy things went my way. I'm convinced that Sintes had no chance in the Vuelta, so I took a chance on the Eneco and am glad it paid off. Now let's see if my strategy also works in the Vuelta. It 'd better, otherwise it's going to be a looooong 2 weeks...

And a good thing too, we almost have all teams entered in the Vuelta. Should make for a really exciting race!

First of all thanks Kingstown for posting those stats about how much points each team got after a race or tour. Very interesting to see!
I was happy with my eneco since I did not have a strong team. For the Vuelta things are clear for me. Burel for green, Galleriano for Yellow and Bonnaire for stages since his secundary stats are not good enough. Hopefully it will be an interesting two weeks! good luck everyone!

Yw Thorax. I'll see if i manage to get the points from Plouay, since we had a stage of the Vuelta in between....btw....little mistake to give your riders only 70 effort today?! That Thwaites guy must be something....winning without having a trainer. There were 4 possibilities for a stagewin and number 1 is gone....now it's going to be waiting a while before the TT's are getting there....untill then it will be hoping for some points here and there.

Totally unexpected win in today's Grand Prix. Or to be more accurate, really surprised that Presta was the winner.
I would have expected McStay or Loyer to win, but clearly Presta who is really not that great a rider...Still, a win is a win, so I can't complain!!!

hey guys,
finally had time for the forum.
I think that my promotion chances are very slim with my team, but perhaps with some luck i can win some more races and become fourth...

Good to see you on the forum kanikoerski....welcome!
A gap of 1300 points is a lot with only a handfull of races to go, but a good start with your victory today!
The chance is huge btw that more then the first 4 teams will promote....probably most active teams will promote to fill up division IV.

I know there is probably no chance of happening, but I really wish we would stay together in div 4. This was really an exciting season, mostly due to our high level of activity (2nd most active div on this forum). I'll miss you guys if we're separated...

Agree with triplef that it was fun to be in an active division, although you guys costed me lots of points and money. kanikoerski : There are a lot of mountaintrainers, so the competition will be though....any plans to start training a scond skill next to mountains? @ triplef: Second thoughts about the second skill? (hill 1) You've chosen for sprint i see....nice choice and curious whether it will help you with the new RE.
