1) Could be interesting to include some races for the younger cyclists, U23 or U21.
For instance :
- Tour des Flandres Espoirs (week after real Tour des Flandres)
- Paris-Roubaix Espoirs (week before Dauphiné)
- Tour de l'Avenir (week before Tour de Pologne)
2) Like the calendar is now, you often get the same top riders in the big tours over and over again. Which is quite normal, as when they come out of the Giro on something like 65%, they are about to get full fitness again at the start of the Tour. Coming out of the Tour on 60%, they can't really participate to races in between Tour and Vuelta, but they 're on 100% fitness again by the start of the Vuelta.
Personally I have been sending the same trio over and over to the big tours this season. Not that I really planned it this way, but during the season it appears you just don't have too much of an other choice.
Firstly it isn't all that realistic. And secondly it also isn't that interesting for game aspects.
Therefor I would like to suggest that cyclists riding too many races over a certain period would get to lose more daily fitness than the more fresh ones. It shouldn't be that much of a difference.
Let's say something like :
00-10 races in last 50 days : like it is now
11-12 races in last 50 days : 1% extra fitness lost (so -6% when riding at 70%)
13-15 races in last 50 days : 2% extra fitness lost
16-20 races in last 50 days : 3% extra fitness lost
21-.... races in last 50 days : 5% extra fitness lost
3) Some extra races would be nice as well. For instance :
National Championships : ITT & road race
World Championship : ITT & road race (could be at the end of the season)
For instance :
- Tour des Flandres Espoirs (week after real Tour des Flandres)
- Paris-Roubaix Espoirs (week before Dauphiné)
- Tour de l'Avenir (week before Tour de Pologne)
