I'm pretty sure my and your definition of stable differ greatly, because as far as I'm concerned this if the first downtime(and thus unstability) this year and although it is prolonged, the cause is still the same. Slower loadtimes generally have nothing to do with stability tbh. And you have your wish, extra week of premium has been granted. Furthermore for this I don't think having more people available to help would change the situation. If the server is hosted in a datacenter you can't just send someone you know from online there, and even if you (and the security from the centre) would be so strange to allow it, they probably wouldn't even recognize the server if it's in a rack with other servers. The only thing that would have helped in this situation would be to have the management of the server itself outsourced and extra SLA's for downtime, but those things aren't exactly cheap. Or to run the server itself virtualized on the physical server so that an image can always be restored or moved to another server but again doing this in a professional way would cost a lot more than the premium money can ever hope to generate. Just think about it, in medium-sized companies you have one admin per 250 machines(if you're lucky), regardless of how many servers there are. (This can of course vary depending on what the company does and if there's lots of specialized software needs) and you guys are thinking that more people to manage one(!) server would have made a difference ... Indeed... if the server fails on a hardware level, I could have all the support in the world, someone would have to go to the datacenter to physically reboot or fix the problem... I have phoned the emergency hotline, and the guy is now getting there to fix it. Although their tarrifs for doing this aren't exactly cheap And in case you are wondering (as I read things like I don't care about the game as long as I'm getting money from the Premiums): this game is not making me rich. The Premium accounts are only good to pay about 10% of the costs to host the game. 20% on a good month. Everything else comes from my pocket. If I tell you how many thousands of euros I have already spend on this game, you'd call me insane. As for more help to develop the game: I wouldn't mind! If someone has good knowledge of C#, ASP.NET and MySQL, he/she can contact me. Although I'm very careful about giving access to all the game code just to anyone. Maybe if Nikeboy would follow a course in C# and MySQL He programmed the new race engine in Excel, how hard could it be for him?

Partly you are right, but you're missing the point. The site was down since yesterday, let's say at 02:00 hour at night. He started working/checking on the site about 15 hours later. That's my point, everybody here was talking about it, but no one could do anything about it, because no one had acces and the whole game had to wait on IP. If there are more people with acces, then a problem ca be solved and worked on earlier

Yeah, we all complain from time to time, but it's only because we love the game and we need our cycling fix! Everyone on the forum is here because you have created a great game. Please keep on doing what you are doing! Thanks again for giving me so much entertainment for such a small VIP amount!!!! ;D

I support the idea of Nikeboy take the course, and as I said I make a contribution. IP if you need to put the premium at 10€ no problem, we only want the game back for us to play

But as I need to work (to pay for this game ), I couldn't spend a lot of time to make sure the problem was solved. I rebooted the server and left for work. Too bad it never came back online Ok, I just got a call from the helpdesk. Bad news... The server is infected with a lot of viruses and what not. Someone must have had some fun with it As the cost to fix this now is way too expensive (40€ per 15 minutes, if you must know ), I told him to look at it during the office hours. So the site will not be available at least until Monday. He told me they are going to handle this with priority, but I don't have any idea how long it is going to take them to fix it. The last backup before the downtime was made on Thursday at 12:45, so there's a big chance I will use this backup instead of using the database in its current state (when the server got down), in order to avoid any problems with transfers and what not. This means that all actions performed on Thursday after this time will be lost, so please take this into account when the game is available again.

Thanks IP, but imo the week of premium reimbursal isn't even necessary. The money paid is to support you and the game, and if you manage to keep this game running this stable on a Windows Server, you're obviously spending the money well. I totally agree. thx IP to let us have fun with this great game!

Thanks for the regular updates IP, nice to keep us in the loop.
And like some of the other guys already said, thanks a lot for your great work on this game, very much appreciated.

Thank you so much for the time you spend on this fantastic game.

Hey, Iwander! Since we have a break in the Peloton action, and you are in Vancouver, BC, how are the Olympics treating you? Did you stay in town for them? Are you going to any of the venues to watch any of the competitions? Off topic, I know,,,,,

IP is not better to start the next race on Thursday ? to have exactly 1 week and to remain the tactics we made ?
