Just as last season I was thinking of making "unoffical Worlds funraces" during the off-season (May 9). Please tell me what you think :
Should it be split into a mountain and a flat race like last season. Or do I choose 1 less or more allround raceterrain (plus a ITT).
And how do I determine the best possible field for this ?
Should it be based on the international results in certain races ? (f.i. M-SR, RvV, P-R, G-W, final stage TDF for flat - C.S.S., Zuri Metzgete, final stage Giro, Alpe d'Huez stage TDF, Kronplatz stage Giro, Alto de Corbertoria stage Vuelta for mountain). Or do I set the minimum for the desired skill to 8 ? (I know the best cyclists all will have 8 but will everybody be able to select a whole team around them ?). Another possibility is that I base this on the top teams in the International ranking of Peloton, or even my Juicy Eye ranking. But maybe you think I shouldn't bother and just leave it open for eveyone.

Thank you for your opinion. Since I feel that a invitation to a World Championship has to be earned somehow I will base invitations on the Juicy eye cyclists and Team rankings , of tomorrow (after the Vuelta). However next sunday evening I will remove the password and the remaining spots can be taken by whoever is interested.
I will publish a list of invited teams within 24 hours.

I got massive response to the invitations, thanks.
2 remarks : - People who are not in the list will not get a password and have to wait until sunday to see if there are spots left. Those marked with a star will get an invite as soon as I got someone who isn't interested or opts for flat (if they choose to race the flat championship themselve please let me know).
- You can only get an invite to one of the two races ! If the races are opened up for all this sunday evening you can always try to enter the other one.

Since I heard nothing from Multifer yet, "Wheels Revolution" got an invite for the mountian race. Also wildcards for the flat race have been granted to teams that had the best time in one of the "flat" classics or the final flat stages in the big tours. These are the extra teams for the flat race : |Archmage| (San Remo + Roubaix) RiniCyclingTeam (Wevelgem) www.foudevelo.net (Vattenfal) Around the world (Madrid) A possible 5th wildcard will go to the best time of Paris-Tours tomorrow (if not yet invited). The best times in other important flat races and tours were already invited.

Why do all those mountaintrainers accept their invitation? But whatever, I don't have the cyclists to win anyway Only one that is good, but he is probably still +/-1.5 lvl behind the best mountain riders

Those who aren't in the worlds funrace can always try to enter the (Open) Belgium Championships wednesday (only for Belgian cyclists) . I will support that with a (small) jersey in my statistics to (if it gets more then 25 cyclists). And I promise the same for other nationbound funraces organised on that date (if they get +25 cyclists in it). Link to the Belgian Championship
